Genre Classification
[edit]I would not call Minotaur a true RPG -- there's not a long term adventure aspect. Each game was basically a brutal slugfest lasting only 10-45 minutes (depending on the # of people). It's hard to say what genre it was exactly, b/c there's never been another game like it, I would venture to say a "real time tactics." True, as a player, you're not controlling multiple characters, but the tactical considerations are really quite complex for the one character you do control!
I'd also suggest simply "dungeon crawler".
Either way, I wouldn't put it in the "RPG" or "Western RPG" group of games / stubs.
Any other thoughts?

Odyssey
[edit]Is this the Odyssey game that was based on the Minotaur engine? --DocumentN (talk) 04:05, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
No, that's a different one by David Larkin called “The Odyssey” released a year earlier (It's also a lot of fun, but in a different, less forgiving way.) The Minotaur-based one is this one here. Interestingly, Paranoid and Macsoft were also later involved in two of the three licensed Marathon 2-based FPSs too. 72.235.10.142 (talk) 01:54, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
